Business sustainability development

By recognizing the importance of the environment, social, and the benefits of stakeholders, in 2007 KCE became a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) established by the United Nations (UN) to support company to operate business responsibly by aligning the strategies and operations with 10 principles under 4 aspects; human rights, labor standards, environment protection, and anti-corruption, as follows:

Human Rights

  1. Support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
  2. Ensure that the operations were not involved in human rights abuses.

Labor Standards

  1. Facilitate the freedom of labor association participation and properly recognize their negotiation rights.
  2. Eliminate all forms of forced and compulsory labor.
  3. Oppose any form of child labor abuse or utilization.
  4. Eliminate all kinds of discrimination regarding to employment and occupation.

Environment Protection

  1. Support a precautionary approach to environmentally affected activities.
  2. Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
  3. Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Anti-Corruption

  1. Operate against all forms of corruption including extortion and bribery.

Sustainability Management Policy and Targets

To achieve the above goals, the Company has established a working team to conduct tasks of sustainability development, with structure and responsibilities defined as following:

Roles and Responsibilities of the ESG Operation Committee:

  • Review policy, operational guidelines, and sustainability development goals.
  • Participatory hearing from all stakeholders.
  • Establish sustainability development materiality to appropriately engage with stakeholders.
  • Promote and support sustainability development operations to achieve the goals.

Roles and Responsibilities of the ESG Working Team:

  1. Establish approaches in alignment with policies, operational directions, and sustainability development goals.
  2. Monitor and manage sustainability development activities to achieve the specified goals.
